Preschoolers Explore City Hall, Meet Mayor Buckley and Santa!

North Hornell Elementary preschoolers went on an exciting field trip to City Hall recently, where they had the opportunity to meet Mayor Buckley, tour the building, marvel at the festive holiday decorations and meet a special someone for the holidays.

This annual tradition is an integral part of the preschool curriculum, designed to introduce our youngest learners to their community. During their visit, the eager students were captivated by the grandeur of City Hall, exploring its various rooms and learning about the functions of local government.

The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the meeting with Mayor Buckley, who warmly welcomed the young visitors. The children were also treated to a special reading by Santa Claus himself, accompanied by his cheerful helper.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the students had the unique experience of being read to while sitting in the courtroom.

This field trip provided the preschoolers with a valuable opportunity to learn about their community, creating a sense of civic awareness and appreciation for the holiday wonder of Hornell City.
