In an impressive display of dedication, students from Hornell High School showcased their talent at the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Regional competition held at Alfred State College on December 20.
Out of the 11 Hornell students who participated, three emerged as winners in the Retail Merchandising category. Amaya Hoffman, a first-year DECA member and Senior, secured 1st Place. Russell Gage, also a first-year DECA member and Senior, claimed 2nd Place, while Matthew Robinson, a second-year DECA member and Sophomore, secured the 3rd Place spot.
The journey to success began with an online test in early December, followed by an event competition where students had to present their innovative ideas to judges. In total, 35 students competed within the region, making the achievements of Hornell High School even more noteworthy.
These talented students are now set to advance to the State level in March, with the event taking place in Rochester, NY. Their exceptional performance is a testament to their commitment in the field.
Congratulations to Amaya Hoffman, Russell Gage, Matthew Robinson, and all the students who participated in the DECA Regional competition. Hornell High School takes pride in its students’ accomplishments and wishes them continued success at the upcoming State level competition!
