Hornell High School courts are open

The long-awaited tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts are complete! The Hornell City School District is excited to announce that these facilities are now open to the public.

We encourage all community members to enjoy this new resource. To ensure the longevity of these facilities, we kindly ask users to treat the courts and equipment with respect. No bikes, skateboards,  scooters, etc.  are permitted on the courts.

To accommodate both school and community use, the courts will be available to the public outside of school hours. The lights will operate from sunset to 11:00 PM. When using the lights, players will need to push the appropriate button located outside of the courts to turn on the lights.  Each push of the button will light the section chosen for 60 minutes. We understand the importance of these facilities for our students’ physical education program and appreciate the community’s cooperation in sharing this space.

For the safety of all users, the courts will be monitored by video surveillance. Acts of vandalism or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

In the coming weeks, we will be adding a windscreen, signage with rules and directions for use of the lights and completing additional site work to enhance the overall experience.

We are thrilled to offer this new amenity to our community and look forward to seeing everyone enjoy it!
