Construction Underway at Hornell High School: Area Off-Limits Until Further Notice

The Hornell High School stadium area is currently off-limits only for the duration of the light relocation project, which began on July 8th. Once this specific project is complete, the area will reopen, even as other construction work at the high school stadium continues.

The light relocation project involves:

  • Tree removal and drilling: On July 8th, trees will be removed, and a drill rig will be on-site to prepare the foundation for the new light pole.

  • Crane operations: Weather permitting, a crane will be on site Friday (July 11th) to remove old equipment and install the new light pole.

  • During all crane operations, the track and field will be completely closed. If weather delays occur, crane operations will be rescheduled for Monday, July 14th.

During this light relocation work, if you need to access the track, please do so only from the North side, near the ticket booth. The walkway between the main building and the field will be closed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our school facilities. We will provide updates as the light relocation project progresses and when the stadium area reopens for general use.
