The Hornell City School District is pleased to offer a free Summer Learning Academy for students enrolled in 4PK-6 for the 2022-23 school year.
The program will offer literacy, math, as well as enrichment-based programs such as library, physical education and art. The Academy will be a total of 16 days over the summer starting on July 10. The last day will be Aug. 3. All students will be provided breakfast and lunch.
“We strive to make it a fun summer for the students and teachers by incorporating play into learning,” Lindsey Marcus, co-program director, said. “At the end of each summer, the district gets feedback from families that the program helped bridge the learning gap between school years for their students.”
The Academy was established in 2017 to provide students an accessible summer learning experience. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected and are essential to students’ success during the program.
Students currently in 4PK-K grades will attend the Academy at North Hornell School, while students currently in grades 1-6 will be at the Intermediate School.
Registration is open now and closes on Friday, May 26. There is no limit to enrollment; the program will be built based on the number of students registered. All regular school policies apply to the Summer Learning Academy.
Don’t wait; register online now!
