The Hornell City School District is getting ready for the start of 2023-24 classes with several open houses for students and their families.
The open houses will provide an opportunity for school visits and teacher introductions before classes are underway. At the seventh grade open house, students are encouraged to get a free HHS shirt and take a picture in front of the Hornell banner, as well as find their lockers and learn how to open them.
Hornell High School
- Wednesday, Aug. 30 (5-6 p.m.) Grade 7 Open House
Intermediate School
- Tuesday, Sept. 5 (6-7 p.m.): Open House, Community Fair and Book Give-Away
North Hornell School
- Tuesday, Sept. 5 (5-6 p.m.): Open House for Kindergarten and 1st Grade
- Thursday, Sept. 7 (8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.): Open House for PreK 3 and PreK 4
At 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, there is a mandatory fall sports meeting for parents and students in the high school auditorium.

For those looking for new Red Raider apparel for the school year, the Class of 2024 is hosting a fundraiser selling shirts, sweatshirts, hats, water bottles and more. Pre-orders are open through Sept. 8.
