Meeting Minutes July 27, 2022

President Hess opened the meeting at 5:20 PM and led the Board/Public in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Renae Clifford, President of the Marching Red Raiders Band Boosters Club addressed the Board regarding the Marching Band’s change to an extra-curricular activity and presented the Board with a generous donation in the amount of $2,438.53 to benefit the HS band.

The Board thanked her for the generous donation (donation will be officially accepted later in the evening).

REPORTS:

Construction Report: School Business Official, Patrick Flaitz on behalf of Andy Billiotte (Welliver) provided the Board with a construction update.

SUPERINTENDENT ’S REPORT: 

Superintendent Palotti reported:

  • The summer has been super busy with Professional Development
  • The Administrator’s Retreat went very well, the team worked on skills, collaboration, strategic planning, review of the last five years, working on ways to improve. We also had some time with the District’s attorney reviewing practices and policies.
  • We still have some hiring to do before the new year starts. Library, PE/Health and Special EducationBoard member Marino arrived at 5:37 PM

  • approves the 26-week probationary appointment of Tara Foster as Tax Collector/ 12-Month Clerical effective July 18, 2022. Furthermore, the Board approve her individualcontract effective July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025 (prorated);
  • approves the 26-week probationary/conditional appointment of Tonya Cornish as Senior Typist / 12-Month Clerical effective August 8, 2022. Tonya’s appointment is conditional upon her passing the Steuben County Senior Typist Civil Service test and reachable on the list provided by the County. Furthermore, the Boar approve her individual contract effective July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025 (prorated);
  • accepts the resignation of Sarah Dickson as Special Education Teacher effective August 31, 2022;
  • accepts the resignation of Briana Hollenback as Special Education Teacher effective June 28, 2022;
  • accepts the resignation of Brian Biro as Physical Education / Health Teacher effective August 26, 2022;
