President Davis opened the meeting at 5:17 PM immediately following the Audit Committee Meeting (she led the Board/Public in the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of the Audit Committee Meeting

Superintendent Jeremy Palotti and School Business Official Patrick Flaitz presented the Board with an the 2022/23 School Budget (slide presentation).

REPORTS:

Construction Report: Andy Billiotte (Welliver) provided the Board with a construction update.

Due to the length of the Executive Session and Budget Presentation, there were not separate “Celebrating Success” or Superintendent’s Reports made.

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/KHORK that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti to approves/accepts the following Consent Agenda items:

  • Approves of the minutes for the meetings of March 16, 2022.
  • Has no objections to the recommendations of the Committee on Special Education and approves the authorization of funds to implement the special education programs and services consistent with such recommendations for the CSE meeting of March 16, 17, 18, 22, 23 and 24, 2022. The CPSE meeting of March 17, 24 and 30, 2022 and 504 meetings of March 16, 23 and 28, 2022.

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/MEHR that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti, the Board accepts the lowest bidder meeting the specifications on the waste pickup bid and contract for the 2022-23 school year:

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/MEHR that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti, the Board approves the recommendation of School Business Official Flaitz to continue School Physician services with Stony Brook Pediatrics for the 2022-23 school year and accept their proposal of $1 for the year (renewable through 2025).

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/MEHR that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti, the Board approve the recommendation of School Business Official Flaitz to continue Athletic Trainer services with Maple City Physical Therapy for the 2022-23 school year and accepts their proposal of $36,000 for the year.

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/MEHR that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti, the Board approves the fourthree year probationary appointment of Tricia Bressler as School Psychologist, effective May 2, 2022. Ten months plus an additional 17 days per diem in the summer. She will be a member of the HPDG. (BA in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Toledo, her MS/CAS in School Psychology from Alfred University and a CAS in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport. – NYS School Certifications: Permanent Cert – School Psychologist and School District Leader).

RESOLVED: BY: HESS/MEHR that, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Palotti, the Board approves the following changes to the substitute roster and other assignments, pending successful fingerprint clearance through the New York State Education Department and approval through DMV and or Civil Service if applicable:

Discussion:

The Board discussed holding the upcoming meeting of April 20th virtually since it is for the sole purpose of approving the GST BOCES 2022-23 Budget and GST Vote and will only take a couple of minutes. The Board decided to hold it virtually at 6:00 PM.

Informational:

The next meeting of the Board of Education will be held virtually via ZOOM on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM.

The Annual Public Budget Hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the HS Library, the next regular meeting of the Board of Education will follow immediately thereafter.

The Annual Budget Vote/Board of Education Election will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from Noon 9:00 in the High School Lobby with a meeting of the Board of Education to follow at 9:30 PM in the HS Cafeteria to accept the results of the vote.
