COVID-19 update

In an effort to keep the community informed, here’s a snapshot of current COVID-19 cases and associated quarantines in the Hornell City School District as of today. Most of these cases were reported to us during the recent holiday break:

  • North Hornell:
    • 3- Positive cases with employees
    • 3- Employees quarantined as contacts of positive individuals
    • 4- Students quarantined as contacts of positive individuals
  • Bryant Elementary:
    • 1- Employee quarantined as contact of positive individuals
    • 2- Positive cases with students
    • 2- Students quarantined as contacts of positive individuals
  • Intermediate School:
    • 2- Positive cases with employees
    • 3- Employees quarantined as contacts of positive individuals 1- Positive case with a student
    • 5- Students quarantined as contacts of positive individuals
  • High School:
    • 1- Positive case with an employee
    • 3- Positive cases with students
    • 11- Students quarantined as contacts of positive individuals

At this point, the number of positive cases and contacts associated with them allow us to continue to be open for in person instruction in our current model. We will continue to be diligent about following all safety protocols which include wearing masks, physically distancing from others, limiting gathering and meeting with others when avoidable, washing hands regularly and staying home when ill.
