Covid-19 updates from Hornell City School District
We are sending our weekly update a day early to allow us to communicate the dates of upcoming community vaccination clinics in the area geared for children ages 5-11 as well as our weekly updates.
On Saturday, December 4th, Oak Orchard Health located at the Medical Complex adjacent to St. James Hospital will host a vaccination clinic for children ages 5-11 from 8:00-11:00 am. Pre-Registration is required.
On Tuesday, December 7th, The Steuben County Department of Public Health will sponsor a vaccination clinic for ages 5-11 at the Hornell Intermediate School from 4:00-6:30 pm. This clinic is a second dose clinic for those that started the vaccination series last month and can also serve as a first dose clinic for those that want to begin the series. Please note, for those starting the series at this clinic, you will be asked to receive the second dose through a different source. Clinics for these can be found by your medical provider. Pre-Registration is required.
As evident in this report, we continue to experience the impact of covid-19 with students and employees with positive cases and quarantines. Most of the students that were positive did not attend school this week and thus, those that did not attend did not create school contacts.
Below you will see the weekly count for student and employee positives within our district.
This week, we learned of 18 positive cases of covid in our schools. Here is the breakdown:
